So sorry to hear about Paul's passing. I had the pleasure of serving on the Reunion Committee with Paull for several years. He was a delight to work with and will be sorely missed. Sending my sincere consolences to the family.
m I've known Paul since Glen Crest Junior High. I was surprised when Paul's oldest daughter, Danielle, and met our oldest son Michael and they started dating. Long story short they married in 1999 and we became in-laws. We share the blessing of our granddaughters Gigi and Gia who are now left saddened by their loss of Pop-pop. He was an important part of their lives. My heart goes out to Joyce, Danielle, Cassie, Suzi their spouses and children.
What a loss of a good guy. Fun times in senior year trying to stay out of trouble. So glad we were able to reconnect and reminisce during this last reunion. RIP my friend
I've known Paul since grade school. He was always smiling and joking. Enjoyed when he would fly in to join the reunion committee. Condolences to his family.
He was the nicest and most friendly classmate all the way back to glen crest and the bus rides. So sorry and soo sad. Thinking of your family too..Lee

On a lighter note... I first met Paul my freshman year. I had just moved from Southern California with my family the summer going into high school. I did not know anyone yet. I found myself in an algebra class full of boys. I was the ONLY girl in the class. I sat up front, mostly because I really needed to listen up. California did not believe in teaching algebra, just "new math". yeah right. But the consequence of that was that the boys in the back of the room - the goof balls - loved to aim spitballs into the back of my head. every. single. day. They stuck because of my curly red hair. The said goofballs that I can remember were, you guessed it, Paul Salerno and cohorts Ralph Klein and Ted Wass to name a few. I never freaked out or squirmmed or tattled. I just flipped the spitballs out of my hair like it was no big deal. But they kept at it, trying to get a rise out of me. I like to think I won that battle. too funny.
Paul and I shared locker space and classroom seating arrangements throughout high school because we were right next to one another in the alphabet. Salerno & Salsbery all the way through graduation day!
