We just discovered Steve's passing. His obituary from the Jan. 18, 2002 Daily Herald is copied below:
Steven K. Schutt, formerly of Glen Ellyn: Visitation for Steven K. Schutt, 50, of Malta, Ill., will be held Sunday at the Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, Route 59 and Pine Street, West Chicago. Funeral services will be held privately. Born Oct. 30, 1951, in Geneva, he died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb Township. Interment will be private. Mr. Schutt was a salesman for G. W. Berkheimer in Aurora. He had lived in Malta for the past 12 years. Steven was the beloved husband of Joanne (nee Getz); devoted father of Sandra (Tom) McPherson and Steve Humsleet; brother of Sue (Chuck) Glasser and Sylvia (Harold) Beattie; and grandfather of four. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Schutt; and stepfather, George Kosusnik.
This news of Steve is just sad - he passed so young. Steve and I used to walk home together in Jr High. Was a sweet guy. I lost track of him in high school. Thank you Scott for posting. I am saddened by all the postings of classmates who have passed. Mike Ribble had been in a history class with me I believe. And I remember Eileen from sports. Time has passed too quickly.
