When I sent out e-mails announcing our 55th reunion, the e-mail to Eileen Kirkpatrick Vaughan bounced back.  Further research revealed that she passed away less than a year ago.  This is from her on-line obituary:

Eileen Bea Vaughan, née Kirkpatrick, passed from this world March 7th, 2024 at the age of 71. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert; her two children, Anna Sitter and Maureen Vaughan; her two grandchildren, Brandon and Natalie Sitter; her three siblings, Pam Kirkpatrick, Bruce Kirkpatrick, and Jim Kirkpatrick; and her cousin, Diane Matson. All who knew her agree that Eileen was a singularly extraordinary woman, well-travelled and well-read. She focused on easing the anxieties of dental patients in her early career and transitioned into education later in life, teaching children as young as 18 months.

Relentlessly positive, she always had a kind word at the ready for everyone she met and gave generously to her church and many charities. Eileen devoted her life to Christ, donating her time to the Crievewood United Methodist Church [in Nashville, TN] every week, and she instilled this ethic of service into her daughters. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, taken too soon by Pick’s Disease [frontotemporal dementia].

A graveside service was held at 10:00 am in her father’s hometown of Waterman, IL [far west Chicago "suburb" beyond Aurora, Sugar Grove, and Hinckley] on March 30, 2024 at North Clinton Cemetery, 9475-9501 Lee Road, where she will be laid to rest in her family’s plot. In lieu of flowers, the family asks well wishers to donate to the American Brain Foundation.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear of Eileen's passing. We were friends in high school and she was so much fun.
