Our Reunion Committee recently came upon a memorial tree in Walnut Glen Park (South of the RR tracks in Eastern GE) with a plaque dedicating it to Jerry Hill, 1952-2007. Further research online revealed the following obituary:
"Jerome Carver Hill, 55, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007, at Kansas City Hospice House from brain cancer. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Jerry was born Jan. 13, 1952, in Geneva, IL. He worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad in Fort Worth, TX and Kansas City, MO. Jerry was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jerry dealt with his illness with grace and dignity. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Stephanie Hill. He is survived by his wife, Janice Hill of the home; his son, John David Hill (Deanna); grandson, Dylan Hill of Justin, TX; stepdaughter, Cynthia Schneider; stepgranddaughter; Stacy Schneider. Jerry is also survived by his brothers, Robert Hill (Faye), Paul Hill, Steve Hill (Janet), his sisters, Janet Driscoll (Edward), Mary Hill Simon (Marc), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends."
