Thanks for the news Scott. My thoughts are with her family at this time.  Chris indeed was one of the kindest souls of '70.  She always greeted me with a smile and a soft spoken "how are you?"   Never one to judge, always light hearted.  RIP Chris.

An obituary was posted on-line yesterday for Chris:

Christine Thomton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leonard Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations - Glen Ellyn on Apr. 4, 2024.

Christine Marie Thomton nee: Beaver, of Wheaton passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024 at home. Beloved wife of Craig Thomton. Dearly loved and kind mother of John (Becky), Mark (Christy), and Steve (Ginny). Loving grandmother of Toby, Alec, Zachary, Alyssa, Fiona, and Ray. Dear friend of Lee, Lynn, Judy, Dorna, Beverly and Lois. Sister in law to Carolyn, Cathy and Dede. Daughter of the late Raymond and late Dorothy Beaver. Aunt of many neices and nephews.

Christine was born in Chicago and raised in Glen Ellyn, IL. She graduated from Glenbard West High School in 1970. Not long after, she was working as a clerk at Accents Plus in downtown Glen Ellyn. She caught the attention of a young UPS driver who would deliver packages to the store. Craig Thomton asked her out and they would go on to marry on October 19, 1974, and have three boys, John, Mark and Steve.

She raised her children in Wheaton, IL as a homemaker for many years. In the 1990s, she began working at the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, where she would work for more than a decade and become assistant director.
Chris had several pastimes. She was a passionate walker and most days you could find her on the Joy Path at Morton Arboretum or the grounds at Cantigny. She also loved attending local live music events with her friends and reading. The greatest joy in life was her family and friendships.

During her last decade she spent a lot of time in Bradenton, Fla., where she and Craig owned a condo. She loved the area as a second home and developed lasting friendships with members of her community.
She was a kind person with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed and always loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, online at https://glenellynfoodpantry.networkforgood.com/ or by mail Glen House Food Pantry 55 N Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 and/or to the Morton Arboretum online at https://mortonarb.org/ or by mail at 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532

Family will have a private Celebration of Life later this year in Florida.

Chris and I got reacquainted in Larkspur Colorado a few years ago. My husband and I lived next door to her sister and brother in law, Steve and Carolyn Thompton. Small world! I am so sorry to hear this news. She was super nice and so proud of her sons, and excited about her grands. She loved her time in Florida in the winter.  She will be missed by all! My prayers go out to her family.🙏🙏🙏
