On Classmates.com, Robert Gabl, Bob's brother-in-law, said:

"Bob passed away in Jackson, Tennessee on August 15, 2021 from cancer."

Bob is survived by his wife (Mary Davis), 4 children, and 2 grandchildren.

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing.  He always was able to make me laugh. I remember him since grade school at Hawthorne. RIP Bob.
Thanks for jogging my memory, Mike. You mentioned the war games and camping in the woods behind Bob's house and behind Scripture Press. Derek irmeter lived one or two doors down from the Davis family. I think we all terrorized the neighborhoods in great fun.

Bob (Bobby, at the time) was one of a great group of friends in those early sixties. Between our many camp outs in the backyards on Kenilworth, "playing army" and "blowing up" Scripture Press with tiny firecrackers and the nightly games of 16" softball "bounce or fly" (500) during the summer, there are many fond memories of the old neighborhood. Rest In Peace, Bob.

I am sad to hear about Bob's passing.  He was my date for my first high school dance.  It must have been Homecoming freshman year.  His brother Jim (?) drove us.  We went to Topp's Big Boy for dinner!  I had such a crush on him!!

How sad to hear about Bob's passing. My prayers go out to his wife Mary, his 4 children and 2 grand children. I didn't know him that well, but he sounds like a wonderful guy. I know a huge void is left in his family. From the comments I've read his childhood sounds like a fun Hollywood movie. That's nice he was able to make so many happy memories. God Bless you, Bob                     Marsha Virene Matthews
