Sad to see John's name here. He was part of a close group of pals: Tommy, me, Mike, Craig, Skeeter and more names I don't remember (faces and memories I still have). Peace brother.

I met John through Tom Heighway. John, Tom, myself and Joe Gilbert attended Catholic catechism at St. Petronille. Our attendance lasted two sessions. We spent many a Sunday morning hanging out in Glen Ellyn. John lived in a large white house at 766 Hill. It was set off of Hill  One could access the house from Carleton- a dead-end cul-de-sac.John was a founding father of the BBoys. He received a letter as a Pommel horse gymnast. After graduating he attended Arizona State University. He transferred to Western Illinois majoring in business. Upon leaving Western John was employed by an investmen firm in Chicago. He moved to Oak Park. He became a collector of Midwest American art. He aspired to be a writer. In 1976 John became ill. He was diagnosed with acute Leukemia. Although he fought the disease valiantly he passed in April, 1978.One goofy story re John. John, myself, and Tom Heighway snuck into the gym during a Saturday football game. After running around the gym we took showers. Upon completion we dried ouselves and wrapped the towels on our heads like Dumalla turbans. All of a sudden a gym teacher appeared and began to yell. John buck naked stood his ground. He calmly and confidently, with the Dumalla turban tightly secured to his head, explained the reasons for our presence. We were told to get dressed and leave. Thanks for the heroics John!!!!  Thanks to John's brother Bill(71) for filling the gaps.
