I just saw that Ted Wass was asking about what happened to Tom Clegg, so I thought I'd pass along what little I know.

I was Tommy's next door neighbor and best friend through grade school. I was very close to the entire Clegg family. Starting in junior high, we started hanging out with different groups and grew apart. After graduation, Tom went to Louisiana Tech, where I visited him in the spring of 1971, when I was on my way to spring break in Ft. Lauderdale. We had a great couple of days.

Tom didn't finish at La Tech. In the interim, his family moved to Panama City Beach, Fla, where they bought a KOA Kampground and his dad, Bill Clegg, set about a long term, very successful plan to build it into a thriving business. When Tom dropped out of college, he moved to Panama City, helping his family build their business. I visited him there a couple of times, ca. 1974 and 75, when I was hitchhiking around the country being a bum. We lost touch with each other after that.

Several months ago, I got in touch with his brother Jim (GWHS '71) through LinkedIn. Jim was rather terse about what happened to Tom, saying only that he had died from complications of diabetes a few years ago, because he didn't take care of himself. That's all I know, folks. Best  to everyone, Jeff Garvin

Jeff, thanks for the update. I still remember that tall lanky kid Tom playing tight-end on the football team.

Tom was a good guy, we had a lot of fun together.

he is still a part of my life as is Wayne, Bonfeild , "Adam" and all my other classmates

Some ask why go to reunions?

Renewing old memories and making new ones, sharing stories...

Have already enjoyed talking to Ted , all the reunion committee members,

Davin... Even wen't singing with Linda.

Remember partys, (poker) lol

How do you not go to reunions?

I wouldn't miss it .

Hope to see everyone this fall

Rick

I was very sad to learn of Toms' passing. We went all through grammar school together at Spaulding and everyone always liked him, called him "Tommy" back then, and wanted him to be "on their team" at recess, as he was a good athlete. Quite a few of the girls had "crushes" on him too!!! It was real nice to see him at our 20 year reunion in 90'.

I am grateful to have known Tom. We go back to 8 years old as teammates on the Continentals Pop Warner football team. Through the years Tom was always the good-natured guy who was always fun to be around. We laughed just about every time we got together. We talked after HS a few times and he visited me once at my home in Connecticut when he was touring on his bike in the mid-80’s. We lost contact after that. Unfortunate he is not with us to participate in our reunion as he was an integral part of our class, and an extremely popular guy who was everybody’s friend.
